Movie Review Dangal is a 2016 Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan, who also stars in the lead role. The film is based on the life of former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his daughter Geeta to be India's first female Olympic-gold medalist. It focuses on many instances of family bonding during their journey. It has received positive reviews from critics, while Aamir Khan's performance was widely praised. Dangal had its official premiere in China on 31 December 2016 and was released worldwide on 23 January 2017 under Aamir Khan Films co-produced with Fox Star Studios.
